Country Club of Roswell Junior Golf Program Accomplishments

The CCR Junior Golf Program has grown leaps and bounds over the last 10 years under the tutelage of Junior Golf Director Jackie Cannizzo, the parent-driven Junior Golf Committee and the hard work of the CCR professional golf staff. The program has had over 170 participants, including kids from ages 4 through 18. The program starts at the end of February each year and concludes in the fall. Activities include clinics, camps and a weekly play-day program for juniors playing 3 holes, 6 holes, 9 holes and a very competitive 18 holes. This program is currently available to CCR Club members.

The success of the program is evidenced by the accomplishments our players have had outside of the club. This includes juniors competing in high school golf, Atlanta Junior Golf, Southeastern Junior golf, the Georgia PGA, the elite American Junior Golf tour and Division I college golf.

Juniors who have played or are currently playing college golf on scholarship: Nathan Devictor, Columbus State; Ben Spickard at Tennessee; Chris Smith at Georgia Southern; Wes Nobles at Lee University; Michael Chapin at Western Carolina; Sam Braver at the University of South Carolina and the University of Oklahoma; Melanie Pray at Indiana University at Purdue; Jennifer Andyrough at Columbia University; Michael Motz at Marquette University; Megan Maloney at Franklin and Marshall and Lauren Judson at Southern Mississippi.

Juniors who have chosen to enter the Golf Industry: Doug Farrell has completed his Professional Golf Management degree at Mississippi State and is currently working at Olympia Fields Golf Club as a golf professional; CJ Williams is currently in the Professional Golf Management Program at Mississippi State working toward becoming a golf professional; Ben Spickard is currently working toward becoming a golf professional at Sea Island Golf Club.

Junior Tournament Highlights

CCR Junior Golf Program participants frequently participate in local and regional events to continue to test and evolve their game.

Sam Braver is a multiple winner of the Future Masters event in Alabama. He is a multiple winner on the American Junior Tour and the Southeastern Junior Tour.

Ben Spickard has won on the American Junior Golf Tour as well as the Southeastern Junior Tour. He was named Player of the Year on the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour.

Michael Motz has won on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour and the US Kids Tour. He was named Player of the year in Atlanta Junior Golf.

Emily Kurey has won on the Georgia PGA Tour, the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour and recently finished 6th in the US Kids World Teen Championship. She is currently the CCR Girls Junior Champion.

Rinko Mitsunaga has won on the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour, Southeastern Junior Golf Tour and has finished 2nd in the US Kids World Championship three times.

Shea Sylvester has won on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour and Atlanta Junior Golf Tour. He was named Atlanta Junior Golf Player of the Year.

Katie Voll has won on the Georgia PGA Tour and the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour. She recently won her high school (Blessed Trinity) regional championship on her way to leading her team to a state victory.

Austin Glover has won on the Georgia PGA Tour including the year end championship.

Max Van Dresser has won on the Georgia PGA Tour, the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour and the Southeastern Golf Tour. He is currently exempt in the American Junior Golf Tour.

Lauren Judson has won on the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour.

Ben Holm has won on the Atlanta Junior Golf tour, the All American Junior Golf Tour and Southeastern Golf Tour. He has won the CCR boys Junior Champion.

Jon Erik Alford won multiple times on the Atlanta Junior Golf Tour.
